Why Does My Site Look Different?

Hey, I’ve been coding this website as part of a project i’ve been doing, however i’ve based all the coding on how it looks in google chrome / firefox, however when going to the user testing phase a user using internet explorer commented it looked odd, check out the print screen links below:
Google chrome view:

As you can see in google chrome the image cycler and message of the day works, However in IE the cycler message of the day and a random if ie code at the top, Anyone know why this happens?
